25th Hour

RENT

Actually a very good film. Definitely met my expectations. Edward Norton is always great. A real good story of a man who has a day left before he has to go to prison. He has to try to finish up some things with his friends and girlfriend. The characters were developed well and you will be absorbed into the plot

Wallace & Gromit

RENT

Starts off slow, but it picks up. There is some good character development and you can tell an animated expression just by seeing him move his eyebrow. Gromit is a likeable character. It's always great to see the dog come up on top at the end.

Aeon Flux

RENT

Even though there wasn't much character creation, you can't beat a kick ass futuristic female fighter. Charlize Theron was daring and her stunts were amazing. If you enjoy films like the Matrix, you like this science fiction adventure.

Chicken Little

RENT
A very nice animated film on a little chicken who wanted to do big things. If you enjoy underdog stories, you'll love this one. Some great character developments. The fish was my favorite one.

Just Like Heaven

RENT
A romantic comedy that Reese Witherspoon does rather well. Her character was a dedicated attending physician and had no life at all, except for the hospital. It all changed when she was brought into a coma and meets a man in her life. Some beautiful moments.

Brokeback Mountain

RENT

So, is this Oscar winner the gay cowboy movie? It is and it isn't. The director Ang Lee calls it the great American love story and if you can get over two men naked in a tent, it could just be that. Too much visual details. If it's goal was to stir controversary, it sure did it's job. I do give props to the actors and the director to have courage to do such a tough piece of work. See it for breaking performances.

Walk the Line

RENT

I can see why Reese Witherspoon won the Oscar for lead actress. Her performance as the wife of Johnny Cash was realistic and spirit lifting. Joaquin Phoenix was good as the late Cash, but his character was a downer with alcohol and drugs. If you are a fan of Johnny's, you would love this remake of his life. I was disappointed there wasn't any extras on the DVD on the history of Cash.

Legend of Zorro

RENT
The only reason to see this movie is for Catherine Zeta-JOnes. She is charismatic and energetic. The rest of the film is really more of the same from the first Zorro. The music is repetitive and the sword buckling is getting old. I really hope there isn't a Zorro 3 because that would bomb.
