This was trash. There are lots of things happening but nothing is exciting to watch. The cast included a list of popular names such as Leon and Charlie, but skip this one. Basically, 7 morons running around with swords.

Superman Returns

If you are not a fan of Superman, skip this one. If you compare this to the other Superman movies, this one is horrible. You would think we are now in 2007 and there should be some super villian for Superman to fight but it's still the same old Lex Luther. After you watch this one, you will really be disappointed. Maybe it's the person playing Superman too. He isn't as good as Christopher Reeve. Also, the flying scenes looks fake. That is horrible considering the old films made it look very realistic.

Miami Vice

We got some great A list actors in this film, so it must be a good film right? Wrong. The story was horrible. It did not do justice to the all popular Miami Vice detective shows. You would think if they had to pick one detective case to represent this show, it would be something packed with action and excitement, but that was not the case. The only reason to watch this film is probably for Gong Li. She was incredible posing as a Cuban businesswoman in the mob scene. She was very realistic. Gong danced like a Cuban, spoke like a Cuban, and looked like a Cuban. If you didn't know her background, you would think she was Cuban.

World Trade Center

RENT
If you want to experience and remember the tragedy of 9/11, this is the film for you. There will be lots of videos from that actual day. You will feel like you were right there when the buildings fell. In terms of being a good film, it isn't an exciting film. Two men are stuck in a dark hole at the bottom of the Trade Center and they are fighting to survive. It really wasn't too interesting to watch. This film is better off being just a documentary.

Talladega Nights

Will Ferrell is always funny and always make for a great laugh, but he never makes it to the top. If you seen his other films, you will know what I mean. He's funny and that's really it. There's some seriousness to it but as a comedian, he doesn't pull off Oscar material. If you want to enjoy a funny film, he's definitely your man. You got to love his line, "If you ain't first, you'll last."

Battle of Wits

RENT
With a great story like this one and a brillant actor like Andy Lau, this could have been so much better. It's not bad but there could have been more suspense and action. If I had to compared this to The Banquet, this one needs more work. This could have been a spectacular war film. With a huge cast in China, it definitely could have been the best film of the year.

Lucky Number Slevin

DUMP
Even though there was a nice twist at the end of the story, it was too late to save the movie. I was waiting for something to happen and it took too long to develop. I was starting to wonder what was the the point of the film. This is a disappointment for a stellar cast which included Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and Lucky Liu.

Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift

The acting is horrible and the story is terrible. However, the car chase scenes are incredible. That is the main attraction. You want to see the underground sport of car drifting. It will get your heart pumping. If you want alittle excitement, rent this one.

The Break-Up

Vince and Jennifer are a great pair and they will keep you interested. There are many funny scenes and you will be able to relate to the situations. Pay attention to the slide show of the couple in the beginning. That was nicely made and a great display at a wedding. The story might not be the most original piece but the superstars make it a must see.

Find Me Guilty

Vin Diesel is entertaining too watch. He's not spectacular or anything, and probably better in a action flick but this can kill some time. There some good scenes in the courtroom and you will want to stay until the end to see the outcome.

The Da Vinci Code

BUY
This is a terrific mystery and you will be kept in suspense throughout the film. After seeing the movie, you will have doubts on the immortality of Jesus Christ. Also, you will understand more on the history of religion and the development of the mythical Holy Grail. I didn't read the book and don't have an interest in religion but this film interest me. I was particularly interested in the origin of Friday the 13th and the holy templars

Nacho Libre

If you like stupid funny, you got to go out and buy this DVD. It's so funny. Everytime you see it, you will laugh your butt off. Jack Black will do anything for a laugh and he won't disappoint you here. This man has some talent for being dumb. The music and scenery was just right and made everything just so hilarious. His sidekick reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite and that dude was funny like hell

Besides being a really funny movie, Adam Sandler has a serious side to this film. That really surprised me because you don't expect it from him. It's usually all laughs with him. If you are down in life and want your spirits to be lifted, this film is for you. After watching it, you will cherish more things and enjoy every moment of your time. You don't want to waste it doing nothing because when it's over, you want to have done something with your life.

Mission Impossible 3

Tom Cruise is back again and it's non stop action. He won't disappoint you with his incredible stunts and explosions. It's no wonder he is one of the top paying actors in Hollywood. He works hard and it shows in his films.

United 93

RENT
A breaktaking film of the actual events of 9/11. You will be sitting at the edge of your seat. If you were ever curious what exactly happened, this film is the right one for you. After watching this one, I realized why the planes were able to hit the towers. Once the planes are in the air, it's not exactly easy to track them. Passengers of United 93 are our true heroes. God Bless Them!

Beyond the Sea

DUMP
Unless you like musicals, you probably want to skip this one. It's all sing and dance, and it's not even that great. A story of boy who had a serious illness in childhood, overcoming it and becoming a great Hollywood figure. It wasn't something we were interested in watching.

Fun with Dick and Jane

Jim Carrey is funny. Tea Leoni is funny. This is a dark comedy of a couple who has lost everything when a company goes under, similiar to Enron. It shows that to survive you might have to do anything you can to make the end meets.

Munich

RENT
Steven Spielberg done it again. A fabulous story based on the actual events that happened at Munich. His film shows why violence is met with violence, especially between the Arabs and Jews. An age old war is still going on, and it looks like there might never be a victor.

The Banquet

BUY
A terrific adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. The music is extraordinary and the scenaries are beautiful. Zhang ZiYi does not disappoint in her role as the Empress after the death of her husband, the Emperor of China. Some parts are slow but everything keeps you in suspense as you watch to see who will die next.

She's the Man

Funny, really funny. You will not stop laughing. Terrific music and Amanda was great as a guy. I decided to see the film after Alexia from Laguna said it was one of her favorite DVDs. I was wondering what made the film great because it definitely wasn't one of the classics. After you watch, you will know why it was in her collection.

Scary Movie 4

RENT
Okay, this is not even a sequel anymore. It's definitely not going to be better than the rest. However, it's still funny and to see stupid things happen that can make you laugh is still good enough to watch.

Ice Harvest

There's some suspense and action in this film, but nothing original. Most of it is predictable and even when you see the ending, you are not really surprised. A typical mobster story.

Pride and Prejudice

DUMP
This movie was boring. I know the book was popular, but this film doesn't help the cause. A story about a mom with 5 daughters who want them all to get married to weathly gentlemen. Keira had some incredible acting but the story just wasn't exciting.

Poseidon

BUY
I didn't expect this to be any good, especially since it was a remake of an old film. Also, to follow in the footsteps of Titanic is not an easy task. However, Wolfgang was able to produce a very realistic and suspenseful journey for us in the destruction of a cruise ship after a big wave hits it. Kurt Russell and Joshua Lucas were heroes in their own rights, and led the group in survival and escape. Can you imagine having a group of people lives in your hands and you can lose one at any time?

Glory Road

DUMP
A true story of a basketball coach who stoodup for the first black basketball team in America. He fought even when there was no chance. A possible great story that could have been shown so much better on film, rather than turning out to be a story of a few black kids who were getting out of the hood. A major disappointment from Jerry Bruckheimer.

V for Vendetta

BUY
A fantastic story of a man who became an ideal of the people and stood against the corruption and evilness of the government. Sometimes, revolution is the only way to rebuild a nation that is lost from its own roots. An inspiring film with great music sequences and thoughts.

Capote

DUMP
I wouldn't even think of seeing this film if it wasn't an Oscar winning piece. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a great actor and he was very believable as Truman Capote, but his life just wasn't interested. He wrote a novel that made him the most popular author in America. It changed his life but it was definitely not meant to be on film. There wasn't much going on.

Take the Lead

DUMP
I thought this could be inspirational, but I was wrong. It could have been so much better, but this seem to be another film about how high school rejects can make it if they have determination. This time, Banderas is teaching ballroom dancing and the kids are catching on to this type of dance. Cheezy and looks like a low budget film.

Failure to Launch

DUMP
Just another romantic comedy. There is nothing special about it. It could even be worst than Sex in the City. This is a definitely not a joy ride. Sarah Jessica Parker falls in love with her client who she is trying to help move out of his house. There is no spark between this couple. In fact, the supporting actress was more entertaining. When you are upstage like that, you know the film is horrible.

The Departed

BUY
This film was based on the incredible thriller made in Hong Kong, called Infernal Affairs. Now produced by Martin Scorsese and with a cast like Leonardo Dicarprio, Jack Nicholson, and Matt Damon, this film is not to disappoint. In fact, it's Oscar worthy. The film is violent, bloody, and full of in-your-face smack downs. You will always be wondering what will happen next, unless you saw the HK version of this film. I liked the film but it was predictable. I would have like it more if Scorsese changed the storyline from the original movie. It would have been more suspenseful. All in all, the HK version was still better than this one.
