Billy Bob Thorton and John Heder are a great team together. If you like John in Napoleon Dynamite, you will like this one too. He is really funny. If you don't know how to stand up for youself in life, this film might give you some inspiration, and perhaps some tips.

Golden Chicken 2

A nice recall of the Hong Kong's SAR event. Sandra and Jacky were nominated for their outstanding roles. An interesting story to watch, especially in memory of the tragic event in HK. You will also catch Leon and Andy.

The Ilusionist

I never get tired of Edward Norton's film. He is a spectacular actor, and his films always have a sense of mystery and suspense. This one will leave you hanging till the end. You will wonder how the biggest magic trick of the century is pulled off. It's amazing!

Bandidas

RENT
Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz are an interesting couple and you will not grow tired of them. They are plain silly, and you will laugh at the things they do. Two girls dressed as bandits to rob the banks to save the country. That can't get more funnier.

Wo Hu

RENT
This is another film that came out of the Internal Affairs series but doesn't compare well against them. There is some incredible acting especially by Chi Wai, but the story falls short. There is nothing new. It's the old cops and robbers movie. If you like to watch triad films, it's still worth your watch.

Suddenly in Black 2

DUMP
Sequels are usually terrible compared to the original and this one is no exception. There are many scenes of spoofs of different movies but they weren't funny. Many of the jokes were predictable and not really funny. It was a disappointment for me because the first one was very funny.

American Pie - Naked Pie

BUY
If you a collector of American Pie movies, this one won't disappoint you. The jokes are still funny and there are plenty of attractive people running around. Unless you don't like watching eye candy, this one is still a hot sell.

Election 2

RENT
This was much better than the first one, but it's still nothing exciting. You would probably want to see this one just to see how it turns out. It's kind of disappointing because there are many A celebrities, but its not A material.

Covenant

Great story and lots of suspense. Usually you will see vampires and werewolves films, but rarely do you see films about witches. They did a great job on making this one interesting. There is plenty of action and you won't be bored. This could have been a DVD buy if they casted some famous people. With the young, pretty, unknown people in this cast, it seem more like a teenager flick.

Little Man

Funny, very funny. Wayan was great as a little baby. Even though his face was just placed into the body of a baby for the film, he was very realistic. This film is definitely good for some laughs.

Kung Fu Mahjong 2

If you like Cherrie, you will see a lot of her in this comedy. Usually, she has a costar role but this time she is the main actress. The story is nothing special but you'll get some laughs out of it.

Snakes on a Plane

This was a terrible film. I don't understand all the hype about it. I don't understand why Samuel Jackson is pushing for this film. It is a waste of his talent. There are snakes on the film, so what? Whoopee Doo. There's no story and you just see snakes killing people on a plane. Nothing too exciting.

Initial D

If you like watching Fast and Furious, you will like this one. Same old kind of story. It's nothing new. You watch it just for the fast car scenes. I can't believe Jay Chou won for best new artist for this film. He looked like he was asleep the whole film.

The Next Top Princess

Ok, this film was horrible and can cause headaches. The women were attractive but their voices will slowly get you annoyed. Story was terrible and looks like a low budget film.

You, Me, and Dupree

DUMP
Not worth watching. Mostly a waste of time. Owen Wilson isn't that funny, and this romantic comedy does not work. Matt Dillon and Kate Hudson are just another couple that we don't really care enough about to watch. Why did Michael Douglas show up for this bomber?

All the King's Men

DUMP
I hate Sean Penn, so this film doesn't help his cause. It was boring. If you are not into politics, heavy politics, skip this one. There's a shocking ending but it was all not worth the watch. There some good speeches made by Sean Penn too, but overall, boring stuff. It's quite disappointing with a cast that also include Jude Law and Kate Winslet.

JackAss 2

Nothing new from the original, but still an entertaining watch. There's some gross scenes so if you stomach can't take it, you might not want to rent it. Or you can always close your eyes. For some of the things these guys do, they deserve all the big bucks that are paid to them.

Seven Swords

DUMP
This was trash. There are lots of things happening but nothing is exciting to watch. The cast included a list of popular names such as Leon and Charlie, but skip this one. Basically, 7 morons running around with swords.

Superman Returns

RENT
If you are not a fan of Superman, skip this one. If you compare this to the other Superman movies, this one is horrible. You would think we are now in 2007 and there should be some super villian for Superman to fight but it's still the same old Lex Luther. After you watch this one, you will really be disappointed. Maybe it's the person playing Superman too. He isn't as good as Christopher Reeve. Also, the flying scenes looks fake. That is horrible considering the old films made it look very realistic.

Miami Vice

We got some great A list actors in this film, so it must be a good film right? Wrong. The story was horrible. It did not do justice to the all popular Miami Vice detective shows. You would think if they had to pick one detective case to represent this show, it would be something packed with action and excitement, but that was not the case. The only reason to watch this film is probably for Gong Li. She was incredible posing as a Cuban businesswoman in the mob scene. She was very realistic. Gong danced like a Cuban, spoke like a Cuban, and looked like a Cuban. If you didn't know her background, you would think she was Cuban.

World Trade Center

RENT
If you want to experience and remember the tragedy of 9/11, this is the film for you. There will be lots of videos from that actual day. You will feel like you were right there when the buildings fell. In terms of being a good film, it isn't an exciting film. Two men are stuck in a dark hole at the bottom of the Trade Center and they are fighting to survive. It really wasn't too interesting to watch. This film is better off being just a documentary.

Talladega Nights

Will Ferrell is always funny and always make for a great laugh, but he never makes it to the top. If you seen his other films, you will know what I mean. He's funny and that's really it. There's some seriousness to it but as a comedian, he doesn't pull off Oscar material. If you want to enjoy a funny film, he's definitely your man. You got to love his line, "If you ain't first, you'll last."

Battle of Wits

RENT
With a great story like this one and a brillant actor like Andy Lau, this could have been so much better. It's not bad but there could have been more suspense and action. If I had to compared this to The Banquet, this one needs more work. This could have been a spectacular war film. With a huge cast in China, it definitely could have been the best film of the year.

Lucky Number Slevin

DUMP
Even though there was a nice twist at the end of the story, it was too late to save the movie. I was waiting for something to happen and it took too long to develop. I was starting to wonder what was the the point of the film. This is a disappointment for a stellar cast which included Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, and Lucky Liu.

Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift

The acting is horrible and the story is terrible. However, the car chase scenes are incredible. That is the main attraction. You want to see the underground sport of car drifting. It will get your heart pumping. If you want alittle excitement, rent this one.

The Break-Up

Vince and Jennifer are a great pair and they will keep you interested. There are many funny scenes and you will be able to relate to the situations. Pay attention to the slide show of the couple in the beginning. That was nicely made and a great display at a wedding. The story might not be the most original piece but the superstars make it a must see.

Find Me Guilty

Vin Diesel is entertaining too watch. He's not spectacular or anything, and probably better in a action flick but this can kill some time. There some good scenes in the courtroom and you will want to stay until the end to see the outcome.

The Da Vinci Code

This is a terrific mystery and you will be kept in suspense throughout the film. After seeing the movie, you will have doubts on the immortality of Jesus Christ. Also, you will understand more on the history of religion and the development of the mythical Holy Grail. I didn't read the book and don't have an interest in religion but this film interest me. I was particularly interested in the origin of Friday the 13th and the holy templars

Nacho Libre

If you like stupid funny, you got to go out and buy this DVD. It's so funny. Everytime you see it, you will laugh your butt off. Jack Black will do anything for a laugh and he won't disappoint you here. This man has some talent for being dumb. The music and scenery was just right and made everything just so hilarious. His sidekick reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite and that dude was funny like hell

Besides being a really funny movie, Adam Sandler has a serious side to this film. That really surprised me because you don't expect it from him. It's usually all laughs with him. If you are down in life and want your spirits to be lifted, this film is for you. After watching it, you will cherish more things and enjoy every moment of your time. You don't want to waste it doing nothing because when it's over, you want to have done something with your life.
