Ocean's Twelve

RENT
The only reason you will probably go see this movie is for Catherine Zeta Jones and Julie Roberts. Catherine brings fresh air to a lifeless cast who has no new tricks up their sleeves and Julie takes on a new role. The 11 guys are just not worth seeing again.

It is a long movie to see the BIG TRICK that everyone is waiting to see. Way too long...

Joey Yung in Concert 2005

Special Feature

It started out bad when the concert bus to Mohegan Sun was not available in the morning, making hundreds of people wait in the cold. Then Joey sang 7 songs. What kind of concert is that?

The other group, ACE, sang more than her. How does that make sense when Joey is the main attraction for selling the concert? Looks like another case of amateur organizers ripping off fans by advertising a popular singer, but not paying the singer to do a full performance.

Joey, on the other hand, looked great, sang well, and stay cute through her blunders. That's how you make it in entertainment.

Did any of you hear her when she suppose to say "when I was small I never took a plane", but she said "when I was small I never hit a plane"?

Fat Albert

RENT
Cosby did a good job of creating the character Fat Albert for the big screen, but like other movies made after cartoon shows, they are made for kids. I pushed off watching this movie because I knew it would be another silly comedy. With scenes of inspiration, it was a tee above it.

If you do want to watch the show, don't miss Dania Ramirez as Lauri. Doesn't she look like a young Jennifer Lopez?

Meet the Fockers

RENT
A fun movie to watch. At some scenes, it became really ridiculous and stupid, but you can still sit through the entire episode. The movie seem almost too long, but a good cast such as Duffin Hoffman and Robert Deniro kept it almost alive.

You keep thinking this movie is really silly, but you still laugh at some parts, so it kinda does it job.

Christmas with the Kranks

DUMP
This could be the worst Christmas production that I have ever seen. It tries very hard to be a touching Christmas story, but it just doesnt do it. There are some funny parts, but mostly, it is not worth watching, even at Christmas time. Bah Humbug to this worthless movie.

Being Julia

BUY
Annette Bening is a splendid actress. She should have won the Oscar for best actress instead of Hilary Swank. Her protroyal of Julia, an aging theatre actress who is looking for that zest in life and inspiration was magnificient. If it wasnt for her terrific acting, the movie was just a dull soap opera with tales of love and romance.

Look for her glorious finale!

Ong Bak

DUMP
Besides the incredibile, crazy, killer Thai moves, this movie was really bad. It had absolutely no story at all. Who looks for a buddhist head in 2005? If you enjoy watching Bruce Lee, Jet Li, or other martial art films, you will be be blown away by this guy's moves. Unlike others, there are no special effects. Besides the slow motion frames, there are no special sounds or lighting effects.

There was a nice attempt to display the gloriousness of Thai boxing when the foreigners all threw quarters at the warrior, but this film should really have ended in an hour. All the Fast and Furious scenes in Thailand should have been cut.

Million Dollar Baby

RENT
It must be hard to let go of something you put your life's work and love into, but sometimes when you set it free, it is for the best for both of you. That "one shot" was worth it all. Do you think you can sacrifice everything and risk life itself for that chance?

It's hard to say if this is a tragic or inspirational film of a boxer's dream. The set is usually gloomy, and Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman are always in the dark. However, you do see that bright light at the end of the movie.

This is definitely not a Rocky movie. Through the course of the movie, you do wish that it was, because it would be much happier, but this is not that type of film.

The film wouldnt have made it without the current cast, so indeed, there were some Oscar performances and great acting.

Closer

RENT
When I started watching this movie, I almost stopped watching it.

There were cut scenes everywhere, and I had no idea what was going on with the different people being protrayed. All I knew about the movie was that Natalie Portman was a stripper and she was involved in some complex relationship. I would say the first hour of the film was really dull, and was just about 4 people forming complex relationships. I was surprised that as the story unfolded, it showed some deeper meaning.

When you watch the ending, you would understand the heroism and sacrafice of a certain individual that you never expected. You would realized that lies were really truths and truths were really lies. Also, you''re going to love the honest brutality and reality of everyday life and relationships.
