This gives a new twist to the war movie genre. It shows the propoganda side of it where the government have to use every which way to make money to fund the war. In this case, it is to use a popular photo to display heroism and hope of winning the war. It takes you inside a war and gives you a better understanding of it.

This movie is a dump compared "Letter From Iwo Jima" the other half of the same movie also directed by Eastwood. Story line is boring. Its 2 hour of my life wasted. I hardly ever not finish a movie, but this is one of them. Regardless whether you hate or like this movie, it'll like Letter From Iwo Jima more.
