A film on the attempted assassination of the President, starring Michael Douglas and Eva Longeria. If you are seeing this film for Eva, you will be disappointed. She is not as interesting as her role in Desperate Housewives. However, there is a great plot, and Michael keeps you interested. You want to see what will happen next, and how a secret service agent can outwit everyone.

The Family Stone

Lots of famous actors but this film stinks. There's nothing great about this film. It's about a family during Christmas. Who really cares? It's not even a good film for Christmas time. Don't watch it.

Annapolis

What's up with the all boxing in this film? I wanted to see a naval academy movie, not one about boxing. Even the boxing wasn't that great. We know Tyrese Gibson looks good as boxer, but please give us a break. It didn't help that there weren't any famous actors on the set either. Only go see this one if you got nothing else to see.

Basic Instinct 2

BUY
A very suspenseful erotic thriller that is a sequel to the popular Basic Instinct. A number of years have passed by, but Sharon Stone is still as alluring as ever. I haven't watch the original yet, but this one kept me interested. The plot was fast and exciting. Be sure to watch the extras if you want to see more of Mrs. Stone.

The Matador

This will be the first time you will be seeing Pierce Brosnan in a comedic role and it works. He's not exactly James Bond, but he is still an assassin, one who has lost his cool after years of killing people. I enjoyed how they put a light spin on a topic that is pretty serious, paying top money to kill a competitor in the corporate world. Also, there is a good selection of music in the film

Libertine

This is an unique kind of film. It's not like anything you seen it before. It's weird. And who best to star in this film? Johnny Depp, of course. After you watch the film, you will wonder what just happened. Who exactly was the Earl of Rochester and what is his significance? Don't be alarm. Watch the extras and you will get an insight into the life of this great man. You will feel like you are watching a vampire film, because of the darkness, vulgar, and sex. This is normal because this is the life of a playboy in the age of kings.

Constant Gardener

These political thrillers are really not working out for me. I understand that it is not an action movie, but the politics aren't even exciting. The plot just doesn't pull me in. This time, it's a story of Africa and how US companies are testing pharmaceutical drugs on helpless civilians. Exposing the truth is a heroic action, but please make it interesting.

Firewall

RENT
This one actually turned out better than expected. Harrison Ford is always great in thrillers and there were lots of suspense. Even though kidnapping a family is nothing new, I was interested in seeing what will happen next. I wanted to see how Harrison would solve everything. Harrison was great and you felt like you were in his shoes.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Another ridicously stupid movie. There were a few times that I laugh because of the dumbness involved but mostly it was bunch of crap. Robert Downey and Val Kilmer are trying to solve a great mystery but it was just so boring to watch. There wasn't much suspense or anything. The only reason you might pick up the movie is for Michelle Monaghan. Some very nice scenes of her.

Syriana

What a bunch of political garbage! I don't know if George Clooney got paid off to do the screenplay or what happened? The whole film was about the oil business and how the US is addicted to it and can't let it go. I thought it might be interesting but I was disappointed. I'm sure most people would have fell asleep and wondered what the hell is happening.

Memoirs of a Geisha

BUY
This was a well put together story of a woman who had to become a geisha to survive. If you always wonder what is the history behind a geisha, this film will reveal all the secrets. Zhang ZiYi was amazing as usual, and we all wait for her next film.

Transamerica

RENT
Felicity Huffman was incredible. I don't know how she pulled it off. She definitely should have won the Oscar for her performance. I don't any actress in Hollywood that has the courage to play a transgender. "Oh no, not look beautiful. Can't have that happen." She was very believable and the story wasn't too shabby either.

Ultraviolet

DUMP
There were some extraordinary action scenes with swords and guns, but the dialogues were horrible. Whoever wrote the screenplay needs to kill themself. Also, the acting was horrible. Nothing was realistic and it seems like the actors were reading off a piece of paper. Don't see it.

Proof

A very realistic performance from Gwyneth Paltrow, where she is the daughter of a deceased math genius. It didn't have much of a story, but the acting was great. There was some suspense but it was mostly drama. If you have movies to watch, you can probably skip this one.

The New World

It was a good story of Pocahontas, but be prepare for a very long watch. After two hours, you wonder when it will end. She was casted well, but goddamnit, they dragged it out too long. After awhile, you lose interest in the woman or her well being. It sounds evil, but you want her dead after awhile and hoping Colin Farrell will just wipe her out, but thus he doesn't end her misery.

Even though Bruce Willis wasn't that great to watch, it was a good story. So here's the question. Answer in the movie. If there was a hurricane, and you can only save one person in your car, who would you save: an old woman, your best friend who saved you many times, or the girl(man) of your dreams?

Underworld: Evolution

BUY
Not as good as the first one, but still packed with tons of action. You will see lots of vampires and wearwolves, and that's worth the price of admission. If you saw the first one, this one also gives you a history of the Covenant. If you a like movies such as Blade, this is also a great one.

Prime

RENT
Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep are extraordinary actresses and their star power shows in this film. Fantastic acting makes the story believable. A film about a woman who has recently been divorced and lost interest in life until she falls in love with a younger man. Sometimes it is better to have loved, learned, and moved on.

Match Point

RENT
Woody Allen created a great story of suspense and excitement. Scarlett was wonderful and she escalated the tension in the film. She has come along way from movies such as Lost in Translation. There wasn't a famous leading man, but the plot kept you guessing and interested. The ending will surely surprise you. Just when you thought this would happen, something else happens.

Unleashed

I don't think this movie is worth seeing. Maybe if you like Jet Li and you enjoy his martial arts, it could be something to watch. If not, skip this one. Throughout the movie, Jet is strapped to a dog lease and when it is removed, he fights like mad. How stupid is that? He reforms from being a dog to a human. What an exciting transformation to watch. NOT!

ShopGirl

RENT
Claires Danes and Steve Martin are great in this film. You expect Steve in mostly comedies but he didn't do too bad in his serious role. A story about a girl who dates a man who travels alot and is looking for love.

Rumor Has It

RENT
A story of an older man who dates a family of girls. If you wanted to go see this one for Jennifer Aniston, she will not disappoint. Besides that, nothing special.

Thin Red Line

Do not go see this movie. Despite all the reviews that say it is a great war film, it doesn't even come close. It is boring. Three hours of boredom. I'm was just waiting for it to complete from beginning to end. It never gets better even with actors such as Sean Penn, George Clooney, and Adrian Brody. I did not feel like I was in the war by watching this film. It was sleep inducing.

Last Holiday

Queen Latifah was funny and great in this film where she is about to die and have to spend the last few weeks enjoying herself. The story was predictable and it's nothing new but was still fun to watch.

Chronicles of Narnia

RENT
This is really a kids movie. And for one, it is not magical at all. Even Harry Potter was more mysterious and exciting. The kids in this film came out of the wardrobe into a forest with snow, and they were amazed. I didn't see the big deal. If they didn't have the epic battle at the end, this would have been a total bomb.

25th Hour

RENT
Actually a very good film. Definitely met my expectations. Edward Norton is always great. A real good story of a man who has a day left before he has to go to prison. He has to try to finish up some things with his friends and girlfriend. The characters were developed well and you will be absorbed into the plot

Wallace & Gromit

RENT
Starts off slow, but it picks up. There is some good character development and you can tell an animated expression just by seeing him move his eyebrow. Gromit is a likeable character. It's always great to see the dog come up on top at the end.

Aeon Flux

RENT
Even though there wasn't much character creation, you can't beat a kick ass futuristic female fighter. Charlize Theron was daring and her stunts were amazing. If you enjoy films like the Matrix, you like this science fiction adventure.

Chicken Little

RENT
A very nice animated film on a little chicken who wanted to do big things. If you enjoy underdog stories, you'll love this one. Some great character developments. The fish was my favorite one.
